# Instagram Story thank you template

A customer or audience member sharing your account deserves an acknowledgement that fits the moment. This recipe uses a Story mention trigger and a short thank-you message. It is a starting point for appreciation, not automatic permission to republish the Story. Keep any request to reuse the content explicit and review the answer personally.

## Channel

Instagram: supported incoming interactions

## Setup

1. Select Story mentions

Choose the mention trigger for the connected Instagram account. Keep it separate from a reply to your own Story.

2. Write your acknowledgement

Replace the sample with language that sounds like your brand. Avoid promising a repost or a reward that has not been reviewed.

3. Test a supported mention

Ask another account to mention you in a Story and inspect the reply. Confirm the event is available to your connected account.

## Example incoming request

A customer mentions your account

## Sample reply to customise

Thanks for sharing us in your Story! We appreciate you taking the time to spread the word.

## Next step

Leave room for a personal reply

A mention acknowledgement should sound like your own team.

## Do not bury a sales campaign in a thank-you

Begin with the acknowledgement. If you want to reuse the Story, ask permission and let your team review the response. Supported mentions depend on the account and privacy context; this recipe does not scrape Stories or guarantee every tag is delivered.

## Choose the right Story interaction

A Story reply is a response to your own Story. A Story mention arrives when another person includes your account in theirs. These interactions deserve separate triggers and wording. Use a specific request word for an offer, and a short acknowledgement for a mention. Supported event availability can depend on account and privacy context.

Stories and highlights can outlive a promotion. Keep the offer destination current and remove expired instructions. A mention does not automatically establish permission to reuse a customer’s content; ask and review that separately. Test from another account, including any general DM flows that may also match the incoming interaction.

Replace all sample wording and destinations. This is a workflow plan, not an importable or already-published automation.
